Farmerama: Fair Trade Event Going On in the Funky Online Farm World

Publishers Bigpoint are helping to celebrate the hard work of farmers from around the globe in their latest event, Fair Trade Event. Whether it is in the online world of Farmerama or fields in South America, farmers need to stick together!

You may have heard in the last few years about the issue of Fair Trade and helping farmers in less-developed countries get a fair deal for their goods. Well, publishers Bigpoint (ZooMumba, Skyrama) are raising awareness and want you to help tackle this issue by launching the Fair Trade Event in Farmerama.

During the event, you will be charged with helping to reforest Farmer Sammy’s land. You will have to plant cotton and catalpas, which you will then send to Sammy and give him the chance to promote agriculture on his own farm in Farmerama. Anyone who participates in the event will have the chance to win rewards and other surprises.

As you turn in your orders to Sammy, he will also offer you a fair price for seeds from that very same tree. That means you will be able to plant saplings and watch them grow before your very eyes on your farm in Farmerama.

If you are feeling particularly generous, there are even limited edition T-shirts for sale. These T-shirts have "Armed Angels" emblazoned on the front and are made of 100% organic cotton. All proceeds will go to the Plant for the Planet initiative.
